Let&#8217;s live with it (and defend it).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(2) Democracy as practiced in the U.S. today is partial, compromised, and somewhat muzzled, but still better than the alternatives. Let&#8217;s fix it up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(3) Democracy, no matter how partial or complete, is not sufficient when it is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/2020\/sep\/10\/humans-exploiting-and-destroying-nature-on-unprecedented-scale-report-aoe\">leading<\/a> us all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livescience.com\/oldest-climate-record-ever-cenozoic-era.html\">off a cliff<\/a>. At that point <a href=\"https:\/\/rebellion.global\/\">direct action<\/a> becomes necessary. So are we heading off a cliff <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livescience.com\/65633-climate-change-dooms-humans-by-2050.html\">yet<\/a>? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>(4) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d41586-019-03595-0?fbclid=IwAR0axCO7TmkJ34bprB2948XqNQUXPr8tMX4VZjz4AC6dm_f7uvH37hUSMQo\">How close<\/a> is the cliff edge? What&#8217;s the most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S2212095520300171?casa_token=TGXYNxYnR-sAAAAA:ppARo0wPNmZx3p082xEtZRmKj6pqKpWuqppoIP80CjPzi5BAenAKWdbDwLrHO62Y-V4jwkAQ_g\">effective<\/a> way of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1080\/09615768.2019.1645424?journalCode=rklj20\">stopping<\/a> this train from going over it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(5) What&#8217;s our plan for afterwards?
