Here\u2019s a multiple-choice quiz about it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Which\nof the following occurred yesterday?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>(a) The U.S. hit a new peak of <a href=\"http:\/\/heathercoxrichardson.substack.com\/p\/june-26-2020\">44,702<\/a> new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldometers.info\/coronavirus\/country\/us\/\">known coronavirus cases<\/a>, the most in one day, as its Vice President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2020\/jun\/26\/mike-pence-coronavirus-progress-record-new-cases\">claimed<\/a> &#8220;remarkable progress&#8221; and its President avoided the press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(b) Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/executive-order-protecting-american-monuments-memorials-statues-combating-recent-criminal-violence\/\">issued an executive order<\/a> to prosecute &#8220;anarchists and left-wing extremists&#8221; damaging &#8220;American monuments, memorials, and statues.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(c) It was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/06\/26\/us\/politics\/russia-afghanistan-bounties.html\">announced<\/a> that a Russian spy agency had offered the Taliban financial bounties for killing U.S. soldiers. Knowing this, Trump has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/executive-order-protecting-american-monuments-memorials-statues-combating-recent-criminal-violence\/\">continued to cozy up<\/a> to Putin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(d) The EU <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/europe-travel-ban-americans-eu-coronavirus-final-2020-6\">confirmed it will bar<\/a> U.S. travelers from entering its member countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(e) A federal judge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/06\/26\/us\/immigrant-children-detention-centers.html\">ruled<\/a> the U.S. must release children from family detention centers, and the Minneapolis city council <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2020\/06\/26\/us\/minneapolis-city-council-police-department\/index.html\">voted to dismantle<\/a> their police force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(f) All\nof the above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hint: There is no wrong answer. It&#8217;s a version of Russian roulette where no matter which chamber of the revolver you choose, it will have a bullet. One of them has six (though at least one of them is not necessarily bad; if you could choose between them, that would be the one&#8230; but that&#8217;s not how Russian roulette works).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for today&#8217;s Russian roulette: The number of known coronavirus cases in the world will top 10 million, and deaths will top 500,000. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldometers.info\/coronavirus\/\">Guaranteed<\/a>.
