{"id":406,"date":"2014-04-14T22:55:56","date_gmt":"2014-04-15T02:55:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/aivakhiv-ukrtaz\/?p=406"},"modified":"2014-07-11T12:11:02","modified_gmt":"2014-07-11T16:11:02","slug":"russian-media-bloopers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/aivakhiv-ukrtaz\/2014\/04\/14\/russian-media-bloopers\/","title":{"rendered":"Russian media bloopers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Economist <a href=\"http:\/\/paulgregorysblog.blogspot.com\/\">Paul Gregory<\/a> has been keeping track of some very funny Russian media bloopers &#8212; funny except for the fact that they are intended to be true and serious.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/paulroderickgregory\/2014\/04\/12\/russian-tv-caught-red-handed-same-guy-same-demonstration-but-three-different-people-spy-bystander-heroic-surgeon\/\">Here he recounts three stories<\/a> told by three Russian media outlets &#8212; Rossiya 1, NTV, and the National Independent News of Crimea &#8212; each about a very different character: an &#8220;ordinary citizen&#8221; protesting the Ukrainian &#8220;neo-Nazi government,&#8221; a German EU spy who hired a group of 50 European mercenaries (!), and a pediatric surgeon tending the victims of neo-Nazi gunmen.<\/p>\n<p>The catch is that each is clearly the same guy lying (in both senses of the word) in the same hospital bed.
