Time for another adventure off campus to explore some classic Burlington eats!<\/p>\n

A few weeks ago, we met up with a 2017 grad to grab some lunch at his favorite place:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

KKD’s! This hole in the wall has been providing fantastic late night eats to Burlington’s weekend warriors since 1992<\/a>, located right next to the Flynn Theater.<\/p>\n

We met up with Ben Citrin ’17 to catch up and learn a little bit about what he’s been doing since graduation in May.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

But first things first, why is Kountry Kart Deli your favorite?<\/strong><\/p>\n

“KKD’s has been one of my long-time favorite restaurants around Burlington.\u00a0 I actually discovered it during orientation years ago.\u00a0 Kountry Kart Deli offers a huge menu and is one of the only late night food establishments open that is not strictly fast food (like McDonald’s, Burger King, etc.).\u00a0 I love supporting local business that provides great food at a reasonable price.”<\/p>\n

We hopped across the street and found a spot on the city hall steps to catch up more about Ben’s post grad life.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

How has your first year out of UVM been? (So Far)<\/strong><\/p>\n

My first year out of UVM has been very interesting.\u00a0 Although I have still been living in Burlington, I have been doing a lot of traveling throughout the summer.\u00a0 I had several grad parties to attend in addition to a wedding.\u00a0 Aside from traveling, I have been enjoying the summertime amenities Burlington has to offer, such as beaches, cliff jumping, and seasonal restaurants.<\/p>\n

What so far feels like your biggest challenge and how are you going to overcome it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My biggest challenge is figuring out what I am actually going to do next.\u00a0 I have been interviewing with companies both local and in larger cities, mainly Boston and Philadelphia.\u00a0 I have been overcoming it by weighing all the pros and cons with moving and ultimately deciding on what feels right.<\/p>\n

What are you learning from your post grad experience?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have learned that it is okay to take some time off to figure out what I actually want to do.\u00a0 I did not want to rush right into the workforce the day or week after graduation–I am thankful I was able to travel during the summer while holding an internship at the UVM Medical Center doing web development.\u00a0 I am learning a lot of things that aren’t taught in school, such as how to prepare a 401k plan and save for retirement (all the things I don’t want to think about yet!).<\/p>\n

What are you looking to do next?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have actually just accepted a job as a software developer for an established consulting firm in Colchester called C2 (competitive.com<\/a>) and am every excited to start there in a couple weeks.<\/p>\n
