The most common woody plants spotted in my area are
- Sugar Maple – Seen in very high abundance around the sight
- Paper Birch – Present mostly on the outer stream edge where there has been a disturbance from building roads
- Boxelder – In small numbers
- Ash – In small numbers
- Buckthorn – In small numbers
- Eastern White Pine – A few older conifers found further up the hill from the stream
- Honey suckle – They thrive very well in this area and has out dominated many local plants
Most of the trees are in younger with only about 15% being bigger, older trees. There is a decent amount of understory and young saplings growing. In addition, the ground is full of ferns and other small plants with a few honey suckles near the stream edge. I also spotted some poison ivy.
