The first thing I noticed about my visit was that despite us being much further into winter, there was actually less snow on the ground. But what wasn’t there before was ice, which now covered significant portions of the path and allowed me to walk across the now-frozen stream to reach my spot. The canopy looks pretty much the same as the last visit, with almost no leaves on the deciduous trees and the conifers still holding on to their pines.

Of course, the highlight of this visit (other than getting to walk across the frozen stream) was the number of tracks I found at my spot. I was not expecting many tracks as a good amount of snow had melted, but there actually were several tracks. Now, I am not an expert on tracks, so I can’t exactly tell what some of these might be, but I think some could be dogs from visitors of Centennial Woods, small mammals and rodents, and maybe deer.
