Stony Run, in Baltimore, MD, is a trail that is about 2 blocks away from my house and leads right to where I went to high school. As it is in a city, it is far from as secluded as my spot in Centennial Woods, but there are a lot of really cool things about it that I never took notice of before. Despite being near major roads, Stony Run still offers a quiet escape from the noise of the city. While sitting on the bench by the stream in the picture, I took note of a few things, the first of which was the sounds.

The most apparent sound is the stream and the sounds of the miniature waterfalls that man places throughout the stream, and behind that sound, perhaps not so pleasantly, there are the sounds of construction and the whirring of machinery, reminding me I am still very much in a city. The second thing I noticed is the people walking by, which reminded me that people use this trail daily, whether it be to get to school, walk their dog, or just escape the city.
In this picture, I found a sign right by my spot that shows how much people care for the Stony Run trail.

The third and final thing I noticed, which was funny to watch, was a squirrel that was across the river and made a journey through the trees to get to the other side.
