I chose to go to my spot this week instead of somewhere new, but rather than walking from my dorm to my spot, I walked from my work, Target. The event map is all about showing the natural and unnatural aspects of an area, so I thought it was a cool perspective to walk from an area with lots of buildings and roads to Centennial, where there are so many trees and nature. It is only a 10-15 minute walk to get from Target to Centennial Woods, but the difference is huge! Walking alongside the main road it is so loud and I cross the entrances and exits to the highway, but then I get to my spot in the woods and the only noises I hear are the leaves in the wind and the birds.
On my even map, I showed my “journey” from Target to my spot in Centennial Woods, then in the bottom right corner I did the more specific event map for my area. I drew some of the natural aspects, like the birds, water, and vegetation, as well as the unnatural aspects like the wooden bridge made so people can cross over the stream.
