You can add a Video Note to announcements, content areas, grading\/giving feedback to students and within Brightspace discussions.&nbsp; A few simple ways to get started using video note may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Posting a video announcement instead of a text-based announcement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing instructions or clarifications for an assignment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing video feedback to students instead of written feedback.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Below I have outlined how you can go about adding a Video Note in different areas of your course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding a Video Note to an Announcement or Content Area<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From the tool bar menu in a Brightspace tool you can click on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Insert Stuff &gt; Add Video Note<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/92csicca-teachonline\/files\/2023\/06\/insert_stuff-1024x414.png\" alt=\"Image of the Brightspace tool bar, with an arrow pointing to the Insert Stuff icon.\" class=\"wp-image-179\" width=\"512\" height=\"207\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/92csicca-teachonline\/files\/2023\/06\/insert_stuff-1024x414.png 1024w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/92csicca-teachonline\/files\/2023\/06\/insert_stuff-300x121.png 300w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/92csicca-teachonline\/files\/2023\/06\/insert_stuff-768x311.png 768w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/92csicca-teachonline\/files\/2023\/06\/insert_stuff.png 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>New Recording<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Record your video.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When done, click Stop recording<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next &gt; add title, description, audio language, check the box that says \u201cautomatically generate captions from audio\u201d. Click Next.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Before clicking insert, you may want to let the video finish processing. Depending on the length of the video, it may take a few minutes to process. You can click on refresh preview after a few minutes to see if it is done processing. At this time you can watch the video to confirm it is what you want to post to students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Insert. It will then insert the video. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will need to click on publish (if posting a video note in announcements) or save and close (if posting to a content area or discussion).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using Video Note to give student feedback<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When grading a students assignment submission below the Overall Feedback section, you will see options to Record Audio and Record Video. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-medium\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"272\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/92csicca-teachonline\/files\/2023\/06\/video_note_feedback-272x300.png\" alt=\"Image of the assignment submission area with arrows pointing to the record audio and record video buttons.\" class=\"wp-image-177\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/92csicca-teachonline\/files\/2023\/06\/video_note_feedback-272x300.png 272w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/92csicca-teachonline\/files\/2023\/06\/video_note_feedback.png 623w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 272px) 100vw, 272px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use either of these tools to provide audio and\/or video feedback to students.&nbsp; You can then follow the same steps outlined above to create your Video Note.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The information here should allow you to get started with creating Video Notes for your students. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brightspace has an integrated audio\/video tool called Video Note.&nbsp; You can create and add audio\/video elements to your course on-the-fly using this tool with the option of instant captioning.
