Knees

skiing tuesday with a group of 20-something hotshots at mrg. I held my own, until I whacked my knee into a tree, damaging cartilage (what little is left from previous injjuries) in the process. pretty sure I tore a mess of medial meniscus cartilage. can’t bend knee without severe pain. can barely walk, let alone ski. even driving is difficult — pressing the brake pedal hurts. saw primary care physician yesterday (actually, his resident stand-in), but he knew little more about knees than I. x-rays taken at UHC, but probably won’t get seriously looked at until I go to orthopedic surgeon, which isn’t scheduled until tuesday march 22. needless to say, i’m a little bit depressed.
