- Somebody asked Steve about some server software they wnted installed. two issues: 25GB disk space required, and "root" mysql access. investigated the installation instructions for for MMtx and Metamorphosys. MMtx is the package that raises the "mysql" issue, Metamorphosys the 25GB problem
Last summer, Steve and Mike and I talked about putting together a proposal to buy one or more dedicated boxes to act as Academic Computing "Special Projects" servers, specifically for purpose such as this (and Dspace and cyclos and…). A Linux/Fedora box, and an X-Serve OS X machine. Of course, I never got around to it. Maybe it isn’t too late. TSSG keeps reminding me that badger.uvm.edu is ephemeral at best.
