The 2013 Tarrant Code Camp was a week-long day camp for Vermont students and educators interested in learning how to program. The first year we offered three strands: Ruby, HTML/CSS and iPro/Scratch.
Strands ran concurrently, in groups no larger than 15, taught by an industry professional and a teaching assistant. All programming instruction was hands-on in format; strand sessions were taught in the Waterman Building computer labs, and each day students worked through problems and exercises in their target language that increased in difficulty.
In addition, there were hour-long activities sessions during the day, where campers can decompress with online gaming, a climbing wall, tearing apart a hard drive or looking at microelectronics.
Code Camp will return in 2014. Sign up for the announcement list to be notified when registration opens.
