  • Co-op hours
  • Courses in need of tutors

First of all, tutoring is under way. Once again, if there’s anything you are confused about, or if you’re having any issues, come and talk to me. Some of you haven’t confirmed your hours in the Co-op; if not, please do that.

Next, we do have a few courses in which we will need tutors this semester. If you yourself, or anyone you might know, can work with any of the following courses, tell me.

Welcome back!

Welcome back! I hope that the break has been good to each of you. Another semester is upon us!

I have tried to make changes to the email list as I’ve heard from tutors. I am sure I’ve missed a couple of you, though. If you’re not planning to continue tutoring, or if you are have gone/are going abroad, please let me know so I can remove you.

If you do plan on tutoring, you will need to attend one of the two following meetings:

  • Tuesday, January 13, 7:30 in L/L Commons 216
  • Wednesday, January 14, 5:15 in L/L Commons 216

If you are unavailable during both of those times, let me know, and we’ll find something else that works.

At the meeting, we will review basic procedures, courses, and scheduling, among a few other things. It will be paid time, and it will be brief.

Tutoring begins on TUESDAY, JANUARY 20. Please wait to schedule appointments with students until then.

If you have any questions or concerns, let me know. Otherwise, I hope to see you all next week!

Thanks,
Keith

Pick up your paychecks!

Tutors,

A belated happy Halloween to all of you. I hope you’re all enjoying the festivities, however you might be celebrating.

Payroll Services has sent out emails to several of you about picking up paychecks. If you got one of these emails, you should go and pick up those checks as soon as you can. All student employees can pick those up at Payroll Services, 237 Waterman. If you need any more information, check out the website: http://www.uvm.edu/~cntrllrs/?Page=payroll.html

I am in agreement with Payroll Services; it is significantly better for everyone when you sign up for direct deposit. It cuts down on work for the staff responsible for doing payroll, it’s easier on you, and it saves paper. It is also really easy for you to set up. Follow the directions here:
http://www.uvm.edu/hrs/skills/manuals/personalinfo.pdf

As hard to believe as it may be, the end of the semester is within sight. Are you graduating? Are you going abroad in the spring? Are you considering other employment?  For whatever reason, if you’re no longer going to work as a tutor, it’s always useful for us in the Learning Co-op to hear about it in advance. You’re all hard to replace, but impossible to replace if we don’t know you’re leaving.

Have a great weekend!

Thanks,
Keith

Happy Halloween!

Tutors,

I hope this email finds you well on this Friday afternoon. This weekend is a deadline for payroll submission, so make sure that all of your hours are submitted in PeopleSoft, and you have all of your visits recorded in TutorTrac.

Here are some courses that still need tutors:
NFS 143, PHYS 051, CHEM 121, PHIL 013, CS 121, EC 160, HDFS 005

If you have been to one of the sexual harassment trainings this week, make sure you submit that in PeopleSoft. If you haven’t, you should consider going next week:

Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013
Time: 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm (EST5EDT)
Location: Davis Center 403 (Williams Family Room)

Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013
Time: 10:30 am to 11:30 am (EST5EDT)
Location: Davis Center 403 (Williams Family Room)

These are required. If you would like to stay in with the Learning Co-op next semester, you need to complete it. There should be more sessions scheduled for November, and I’ll announce them when I hear about them.

For those of you who might be doing a little early celebrating for Halloween: have fun, be smart, and stay safe.

Thanks,
Keith
