Science Informed Leadership advocates for graduate students’ interests as public scientists and science policy practitioners of various scientific approaches and backgrounds. In particular, Science Informed Leadership aims to encourage stakeholders and policymakers at the local, state, regional, federal, and international levels to incorporate non-partisan scientific knowledge into policy. It is the intention of Science Informed Leadership to actively uphold the values of sound science and integrity across disciplines.

Science Informed Leadership’s goals include:

    • Involving graduate students in promoting scientific literacy and science-informed policy within government, the business community, and the wider public.
    • Supporting opportunities for science-informed leadership during and after graduate studies.
    • Informing the Graduate Student Senate and the graduate student body of current events and activities within the scientific community.
