Introduction to the Mouth of Centennial Brook

The Mouth of Centennial Brook provides a unique mix of wetlands and grasslands, while being surrounded by hardwoods and a hearty mix of vegetation. This spot is secluded from the common path, but is certainly still affected by human activities (as it is behind the main roads of South Burlington).

There is a great deal of goldenrod, cattails, white and yellow birch, stag horn sumac, as well as other species I was not yet able to identify. Upon my next visit, as I walk across Route 2, I will browse a guidebook on local plant species– especially those commonly found in wetland and marshy areas.
