Fishing through the Wind

With heavy winds and less than perfect conditions ahead, the Melo made way toward Proctor shoal with 25 eager fisheries students on-board. Our aim was set on the two gill nets professor Ellen Marsden and grad student Brett Ladago set just the night before. The orange buoys, marking the ends of each net, soon came into view and under the expert hand of captain Bill Lowell we began to back down onto our first net.
