Goodbye

The Burlington Waterfront is continually a place that not only deepens human-human connections, but also human-nature connections. A lot of my favorite memories of my first year of college have occurred at my phenology spot. At the first sign of spring, many students were walking down to the water to observe the beauty of the Adirondacks and Lake Champlain. I think the waterfront is a place that is near and dear to many Vermonter’s hearts because of the connection you feel with such a beautiful landscape when you go there. There is such a rich history of industry and pollution, yet something so beautiful was able to continue to be preserved. People feel such a connection to the landscape and also to each other when they are here. As the temperature warms, trees and plants are starting to bloom and more people are around utilizing the bike path or having picnics. I would consider myself to be a part of this place. The reason the Burlington Waterfront Park was built was to immerse people into their natural world, and I think any person can become one with this place. I have spent so much time sitting there and observing the way people interact with this landscape, and I think any person can become part of this place.
