First Visit

Centennial Woods is a really nice natural area of University of Vermont. It is far enough from campus that is becomes a good escape from schoolwork, but not far enough that it is a hassle to travel to. My phenology place in Centennial Woods is a high point in the forest that slopes down on most sides. This hilly section of Centennial has a nice composition of Red Oaks, American Beeches, and Eastern Hemlocks. There are also quite a few chipmunks and squirrels running around. This hill is a great lookout place to observe the nature all around. Centennial Woods is a great area for anyone looking for a place to run, walk, or just wander through nature.
