XBOX ONE: locate your Wired MAC address

Xbox One

Game consoles and media streaming devices are made to be compatible with consumer network configurations such as your standard home wireless router. These devices do not support WPA2 Enterprise, which is the network type UVM wireless uses. Therefore, they are unable to connect wirelessly on campus. However, game consoles and media devices are able to connect via an Ethernet cable to the data port located in your reshall room. All you need to do is submit a Network Registration Request Form at

Below are instructions for finding your Xbox 360’s MAC address.

The very first time you power on an Xbox One system, an internet connection is required to reach the settings menu where you will find the wired MAC address you need to register your device. The work around for this is to allow the Xbox to run through the system setup, let it fail, select “Fix It” and then it will attempt to diagnose the issue. When that fails, it will bring you to a screen prompting you to manually set up the connection, listing both the wireless and wired MAC address. Record the Wired MAC Address and register the console using the UVM Network Registration system.
If you are able to reach the main menu on your Xbox, follow the steps below to locate the wired MAC address of your console.

If you are signed into your profile, navigate to My Games & Apps.
