Game consoles and media streaming devices are made to be compatible with consumer network configurations such as your standard home wireless router. These devices do not support WPA2 Enterprise, which is the network type UVM wireless uses. Therefore, they are unable to connect wirelessly on campus. However, game consoles and media devices are able to connect via an Ethernet cable to the data port located in your reshall room. All you need to do is submit a Network Registration Request Form at www.uvm.edu/techteam/playonline.

Below are instructions for finding your Wii’s MAC address.

NOTE: You WILL need to have a USB to Ethernet adapter to connect your Wii to our wired network.

1. From the home screen, select the Wii button in the lower left hand corner.

2. Select Wii Settings.

3. Select the right arrow to advance to the second set of settings, and select the Internet option.

4. Select the Console Information option.

5. The MAC address will be listed under LAN Adapter MAC Address.  It may have letters and/or numbers and will be in the format 00-00-00-00-00-00.

Now that you’ve located your Wired MAC address, please include it in your Network Registration Request at www.uvm.edu/techteam/playonline
