UVM Former Student Transcript Requests

This article provides step-by-step instructions on how former students can request transcripts.

The University of Vermont uses an electronic system to process transcript requests. The electronic system uses NetIDs to authenticate users. If you have not been affiliated with UVM for more than a year, your NetID has been deactivated. All former students will need to first activate a NetID before they can request a transcript, and the instructions to do so will be shown below.

***If you graduated from the University of Vermont before the mid-80’s you will not be able to request your transcripts electronically. You will need to contact the registrar at 802-656-2045.

How to activate a NetID:

Step 1: Open an internet browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, etc.)

Step 2: At the top of the browser, enter uvm.edu/account and then press the Enter key.

Step 3: Choose “set up your NetID”.

Step 4: Enter your social security number and birthday and click “Continue”

Step 5: Follow the directions to complete your account activation by entering a password.

How to request transcript:

Step 1: Go to the UVM homepage at www.uvm.edu and choose the “MyUVM” tab at the top right corner of the page.

Step 2: Enter the NetID and password that you recently created to log in to the portal.

Step 3: Once logged in, click on the “Registrar” Tab. Underneath the Academic Records heading, select “request your official transcript”.

Step 4: Select your preferred method for receiving your transcript, either mail or e-mail. Enter in all the required information and hit “continue.”

Step 5: Once you are done, click “submit request”.

Step 6: You should receive a confirmation screen showing that your request has been received.

If you would like to check the status of your request after you submit it, you can select the “check the status of a request” link┬áthat is directly underneath the “request your official transcript” link from step 3. Transcript requests are processed on the next business day after the request is received.
