SimpleHelp Installation: Mac

The following are directions for connecting to SimpleHelp when asked to do so by a UVM ETS Tech.
Using SimpleHelp to Receive Remote HelpSimpleHelp is a web-based remote desktop assistance application that works with both Windows and Mac OS systems. If you are off campus, you must have a high-speed internet connection for Simplehelp to work. On campus, a wired internet connection is recommended for best speed performance.
To Receive Help:When working with the UVM Tech Team or a UVM ETS Tech over the phone, they may ask if you would be willing to have them use SimpleHelp to help resolve your problem.

1.Open a web browser and go to

2. Select “Download Remote Support” and it will download to your machine. Then you may drag the SimpleHelp icon into the applications folder.

3. Then open the Remote Support Application from the Applications folder.

4. You should then see the Disclaimer, indicating that the tools will give remote access to the UVM IT support person assisting you.

5. You will then be prompted for a Name, which you should enter, and finally click “Submit (Secure)” to enter the queue page, which will look something like the following:

6. Select the Submit (Secure) button and wait for a UVM ETS Tech to open a connection. Once you click to allow it, the UVM technician can remotely control, and fix, your machine. Communication will typically be over the phone as the technician takes over you computer, but there is a chat interface that may be used as well. You can terminate the remote connection at any time by clicking Terminate Session, and closing the browser.
