Import your Google calendar to Exchange

This article will walk you through the process of importing your existing Google calendar entries to your UVM Exchange account.

  1. Open a web browser and log in to your Google calendar. Click the drop-down icon next to the google calendar you wish to export.

  2. From the menu that appears, select Calendar Settings.

  3. Scroll down the settings page until you find the Export Calendar: settings, then click on the Export this calendar link.

    1. This will prompt you to download your Google calendar as a .zip file. Download this file to your Desktop.
  4. Unzip the .zip file you downloaded, this will contain your Google calendar in an .ics file which you can import to Exchange.

  5. Log in to Outlook for the Web and switch to your Calendar view.
  6. From the Calendar view in OWA, create a new calendar which will be used to import your Google calendar. Right-click on the My Calenadrs menu and select New calendar. In this example we named our new calendar “Google”.

  7. To import your Google calendar, click New –> Add calendar –> From file

  8. Click Browse to locate your Google .ics file, then click Open. From the Calendar drop down, select the “Google” calendar you created in step 6. Click “Save” to import your Google calendar .ics file.

That’s it. You’ve successfully imported your Google calendar to your UVM Exchange account!
