Configure your Default Calendar Sharing Preferences – Mac

Use this documentation to alter the default permission level of your Exchange calendar. The default calendar sharing in Exchange will be set to show “Free/Busy” time. This means that other members from the UVM community will be able to see that you have a meeting scheduled during a block of time; however, they will not have access to any details of the meeting.

If you would like to change these default Calendar Sharing permissions to a more or less restrictive permission level follow the guide below.

  1. Open Outlook
    1. If you do not have Outlook installed, or if you need help configuring your Outlook client with your UVM Exchange account, please see the articles below:

  2. Switch to your calendar view by clicking “Calendar” in the lower left corner of the Outlook window. The calendar may also be displayed as a small Calendar icon.
  3. From the “Calendar” view, find the “My Calendars” area in the left column. In our example the default calendar is named “Exchange”, this may be different in your case depending on what you named your Exchange profile when adding your account to Outlook.
