Today’s Activities:

  • Backups:
    • Reclaimed one tape for the vaults.
    • DISK clones completed at 04:43 (7,648 GB).
    • Added forty tapes to the Scratch pool.
    • TAPE clones are stuck.
      NetWorker deactives the target drive every 6 seconds.
      Is it a broken drive, or broken software?
  • LDAP/Accounts:
    • IAM created a duplicate account – how?
      Apparently, an ACL is blocking IAM’s access
      to Sendmail aliases. That is not good.
      Found it.
      Rolling restart and ldapmodify put new ACLs into production.
    • Three updates require human intervention.
      • Wrong name – notified HR, and merged.
      • Wrong SSN – notified HR, and merged.
      • Former Name – HR agreed, merged.
    • Role_Group process is too granular – instead of 2300
      modifications, make one modification to the LDAP entry.
    • LDAP->AD process tweaking just a shade darker than before.
