1 Response to Video Conferencing Product Demonstrations

    Hi folks,

    Sharing UVM Extension’s experience …

We used Blackboard Collaborate, what I am assuming to be the predecessor to their Ultra products, for 5+ years. It was replaced this year by Zoom.

Among the reasons for our switch:
–Sound quality was often distorted or garbled, resulting in participant complaints.
    –No access to mobile app.
–Screen sharing of videos, websites was unreliable. Only PowerPoint slides on whiteboard worked consistently.

I wish I had been able to sit in on the BbC Ultra session for comparison to our experiences.

    Was the session recorded?

By contrast, we have been extremely happy with Zoom and recently purchased a package of 7 Pro Accounts and one 500-seat webinar room.

First and foremost, we receive no participant complaints. Sound quality is excellent. Screen sharing is easy and reliable. Extension faculty and staff are daily making arrangements for sessions.

Please feel free to be in touch with questions.

    Cathy Yandow
