Every time I hear this question I want to scream. I’m a Classics major and A) people don’t usually know what it even is and B) they have no idea what you can do with one. So to all those Philosophy, English and Religion majors, I feel your pain. Unless you’re going into a highly specialized field your major can be whatever you want it to be. It’s not like your career has to follow in a linear pattern with your major, it doesn’t always work like that.
I enjoy studying history and poems, it’s the only thing I could enjoy doing for four years and not go crazy. Major in something you like, you can always change it, you can always change careers too and follow a different path. Not every path is linear, there are so many twists and turns along the way it’s ok to wander every now and then
