A Special Video Message for the Class of 2017

Hi all,

Still haven’t registered for your upcoming class party at Alumni House on Friday, October 6th? As we mentioned a few weeks back, it’s gonna be lit, but to maximize the fun we need your help!

Make sure to get in touch with your friends, and bring them along! We want you all to have a great time, and nobody has fun at a party where you don’t know anyone.

Check out our quick video to see what we mean.

Register now! We can’t wait to see you (and all your friends) there!

Cheers,

Ryan and Kathryn

You are Invited to a Party at Alumni House!

In July we asked you what kind of events you’d like to attend and the overwhelming majority said: happy hours.

Well, we heard you loud and clear, and we are going a step further and throwing a party for you at Alumni House on Friday, October 6 during Alumni Weekend.

Oh and did we mention it’s free?

That’s right, gather your friends and drop by Alumni House to get your weekend started right.

Date: Friday October 6

Time: 9:00pm (drop by before you head downtown)

Location: UVM Alumni House (61 Summit Street, right near campus)

The fun part: If you register (for free), your first two drinks are on us!

Below are four quick tips for getting you through the registration form in under a minute:

1. Select Alumni Weekend and click “let’s get started” that will take you to this page where you’ll fill out your information.

2. Select the Class of 2017 package.

3. Add any friends you plan to bring with you (just an FYI, if you add someone, there are a few more steps that you will need to complete). And don’t worry, you can still bring a friend even if you don’t fill this section out!

4. Select your Alumni Weekend Package and scroll to the bottom and click next to submit your form.

That’s it!! See you on October 6!

2017 Check-In Survey: Results

Last week we asked ya’ll to take a quick survey and let us know where you’re at in your post college adventure. We want to know more about you, so we can you the most relevant info and resources.

Beyond that, we think it’s important for you all to see where your classmates are in their journey, because we’re all out in this crazy world together, doing the best we can.

So, without further ado…

Looks like you all want diverse subjects covered here on the blog- And we’re excited to bring that to you!

It’s awesome that so many of you have landed a new job right after college, and we’ll be bringing career advice throughout the year.

Understandably, the relationships and connections made here at UVM are most important to y’all.

We’ll keep you posted of any events are coming up, to keep those UVM connections alive!

If any of this makes you nervous, don’t worry. When we did this survey with last year’s grads, they were pretty much in the same place you are.

Beyond these graphs, a few of you had some great suggestions for things that we should include on the blog, including more pictures of animals, funny video skits, Greek life updates, transitioning into the job market, more UVM Alumni stories, post grad life hacks… the list goes on and on!

But don’t worry, we hear you. We’ll be bringing you helpful info around jobs, general life advice, as well as all the relatable animal gifs the internet has to offer.

Thanks for following along,

Kathryn ’15 and Ryan ’10

An Update and a Few Reminders!

We have some exciting news!

As you know, each year UVM sends a new graduating class out into the world, and we want to help keep them connected.

So, starting next week, the class of 2017 will be joining you on the blog!

What does that mean? More content. There will be some posts directed at just the class of 2017, but don’t worry, we will still be posting all fresh content for you as well.

Stay tuned for more advice from professionals and classmates, events, giveaways and some silly stuff.

Here are a few important reminders:

1. If you haven’t signed up for the G.O.L.D. Socials in your area, there is still time to register if you’re in Burlington, Boston, or San Francisco!

This is an opportunity to get together with your extended UVM family and maybe make a few connections. Bring a friend, bring the party! And if you are coming to the Burlington event, I’ll be there too, so come say hello!

2. We’re kicking off our June fundraising drive to a wider audience, so if you want to get a pair of these snazzy limited edition UVM socks, make your gift soon before we’re all out!

We hope y’all are enjoying your summer so far!
